RECENT BROOMFIELD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION NEWS & EVENTS
Congratulations and Thank You to our Volunteer of the Year, Greg Stokes!
As a key member of the Human Services Grant Review Committee, Greg’s data expertise brought clarity and confidence to a complex process. Across six funding areas—including Seniors and Advocacy Programming, Youth & Adult Education, Basic Needs, and Inclusivity Support—he expertly managed scoring and outcomes analysis, giving committees a clear, data-driven view of grant recommendations.
Greg’s behind-the-scenes impact will help inform recommendations presented to the
City and County of Broomfield City Council
this January—strengthening decisions that support our community. We’re deeply grateful for your time, talent, and commitment, Greg!
Together, We Did It
Thanks to your generosity and deep love for the City and County of Broomfield, we are thrilled to share that the Broomfield Gives Campaign goal has been fully achieved— $60,000 in community donations, matched dollar-for-dollar with $60,000 in incentive funding.
This milestone is more than a number. It reflects a community that shows up for its neighbors, believes in local solutions, and trusts the Broomfield Community Foundation to steward resources where they matter most.
Because of you, we are forging ahead into 2026 with confidence—strengthening our mission, supporting trusted nonprofit partners, and advancing strategic initiatives that address both immediate needs and long-term opportunities. Your generosity fuels grantmaking, scholarships, youth leadership, and rapid response when our community needs it most.
On behalf of our board, staff, and the many nonprofits and neighbors you help uplift: thank you. Your partnership makes meaningful, lasting impact possible—today and in the year ahead.

Holiday Celebration of Music, Art, and Community Generosity
The Broomfield Symphony Orchestra's December 13 and 14 holiday concerts and fundraisers were truly a feast for the ears and the eyes—and a powerful reminder of how the arts bring our community together.
We are deeply grateful that, during more challenging economic times, the Symphony once again demonstrated steadfast support for local nonprofits by generously incorporating the Broomfield Community Foundation into its annual fundraiser—helping uplift both the arts and essential community needs.
The concerts were made even more memorable by:
- Keith Scramble Campbell, who captivated audiences by painting a unique piece live during each performance
- Morag Barrett, whose charismatic and generous auction hosting—including a Day One matching bid—energized the room
- ASTER, whose voices added a magical touch to Waltz of the Snowflakes
We also extend heartfelt thanks to
the enthusiastic auction bidders
whose generosity reinforced a shared belief: when we invest in the arts, we strengthen the entire community.
We are incredibly appreciative of the Symphony’s partnership, the talented artists who shared their gifts, and the community members who showed up in support. This is what it looks like when creativity and compassion come together.
Giving with Purpose: How a Donor-Advised Fund Can Simplify and Amplify Your Impact
One of the most powerful moments of our recent Donor Appreciation Night was hearing directly from the people closest to the work—nonprofit leaders, volunteers, and youth—who brought grantmaking impact to life.
Because of generous community support, three nonprofit partners and our Youth Advisory Council shared moving stories that highlighted both local need and meaningful outcomes.
- Mercy Manresa, community leader with Day of Empowerment, shared reflections alongside Jenna Candreia, Executive Director of The Liv Project, illustrating how grant funding helps open the conversation about life's difficulties with our youth and how to better cope. This summer the event created an intergenerational space, creating connection and openness.
- Nikki Crouse, Senior Services Manager with City and County of Broomfield, spoke about the growing needs of older adults. She was joined by June Wagner, a longtime community member and Meals on Wheels volunteer, who shared firsthand how these services support dignity, connection, and the ability for seniors to age safely and independently in their own homes.
- Representing the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council, siblings Prisha and Vyom inspired the room by sharing their passion for philanthropy and announcing the Council’s 2025–2026 grantmaking focus: Youth Food Accessibility—a critical issue impacting youth health and well-being across Broomfield.
Together, these stories underscore what’s possible when generosity meets community expertise.
As Broomfield Gives Month continues, we invite the community to support the next generation of local changemakers. To contribute to the Youth Advisory Council and their youth-led grantmaking efforts, click

Honoring our Incredible Supporters and Donors Kicks Off the Holidays
At the Broomfield Community Foundation, meaningful community impact starts with people who care deeply about where they live. We are grateful for our donors and board members whose generous gifts of time, talent, and financial support make our work possible.
In early December, we gathered for Donor Appreciation Night, a special opportunity during the season of gratitude to say thank you, share stories, and celebrate the collective impact you make across Broomfield.
Because of this steadfast support, the Foundation invested in 67 local nonprofit organizations serving our immediate neighbors—organizations that meet essential needs, expand opportunity, and strengthen our community every day.
Show the Love: Meeting Challenges Together
While 2025 has brought many challenges, it has also powerfully reminded us of the strength, compassion, and commitment that define the Broomfield community.
The Saturday following Thanksgiving, nonprofit partners across Broomfield came together for the first-ever Show the Love Food & Basic Needs Distribution Event—a pop-up, invite-only effort designed to meet neighbors with dignity, care, and essential resources at a critical time of year.
Through this collaborative response, partners served 762 of Broomfield’s most vulnerable—and resilient—neighbors, ensuring support reached those facing immediate food and basic needs insecurity.
Together, partners delivered meaningful impact:
- 9,355 pounds of food from Broomfield FISH and Community Food Share
- 1,945 pounds of food and essential items—including baby supplies, coats, and shoes—from A Precious Child
- Warm Bombas socks distributed through The Refuge
- 400 reusable tote bags from Senior Services
- 500+ hot cocoa and baking kits provided by the Broomfield Community Foundation and the City and County of Broomfield Department of Human Services
- Resource flyers and education materials from We Don't Waste and other community partners
This event demonstrated what’s possible when organizations unite around a shared purpose—meeting immediate needs while reinforcing hope and connection.
A Network of Care, Right When It's Needed Most
One of the strengths of a community foundation is being deeply connected—to human services case managers across local nonprofits, the City and County of Broomfield Department of Human Services, and generous, community-minded businesses. When last-minute needs arise, those relationships allow hope to move quickly.
This holiday season, life threw more than a few curveballs at one local family—job loss, hospitalizations, and surgeries—all at once. A determined mother reached out simply hoping her three boys and two girls, from upper elementary through age 20, could still feel the magic of the season.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the FirsTier Bank team at their Interlocken headquarters and Broomfield location, every wish was met—from cozy new bed sheets for all to special holiday surprises. It’s a powerful reminder that when a caring community comes together, compassion becomes action—and hope follows.
