Broomfield Community Foundation Awards Grants

The Broomfield Community Foundation recently awarded $14,000.00 to thirteen non-profits that help people in Broomfield.   Funding for these grants came from several funds held by the Foundation.  The following are from the general Partners Fund, the Rotary Morning Crossing Club Donor Advised Fund and the Sid and Joyce Levy Donor Advised Fund:

Applebox Theatre:  $500 to help with expenses for the live theatre production and Colorado premiere of The Love of Three Oranges by Carlo Gozzi.  Three performances are planned for August, 2011 at the Broomfield Amphitheatre.

Aster Women’s Choir: $500 to be used for expenses for performances of the musical, Quilters, in the fall of 2011.

Broomfield Art Guild: $250 to help with the first annual show of art created from “disposables.”

Chamber Ensemble con Grazia: $600 to help with expenses for the 2011 A Little Noon Music Chamber Music Series to be held at the Brunner Farmhouse.

Boulder County AIDS Project: $1000 to provide HIV/AIDS education and awareness to youth in the Broomfield community.

Boulder Shelter for the Homeless:  $1200 to help fund the winter sheltering and transition programs provided at the Shelter.

Broomfield Choral Festival: $500 to support the 2011 community-wide festival concert to be performed August 28, 2011.

CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties: $2000 to provide Broomfield-specific recruitment training and retention efforts for CASA volunteers.

Dental Aid: $2200 for Marcie’s Fund that provides subsidized, comprehensive oral health care for low-income and uninsured children.

Healthy Learning Paths: $500 for the Champion Kid Power series of interactive seminars for early childhood educators, childcare professionals, parents and children. This is a free series of 8 held at the Mamie Dowd Eisenhower Public Library.

Partners Mentoring Youth: $1500 for program support  to serve Broomfield youth in this one-to-one mentoring program for at-risk youth.

Visiting Nurse Association: $2250 to assist clients in recognizing, managing and preventing chronic disease and coaching them on the behavioral changes that contribute to their ability to live independently at home. This grant will specifically help with foot clinics.

Women’s Health: $1000 specifically for their Community Health Education and Youth Outreach programs in classroom and community outreach presentations.

The Foundation’s mission is to develop charitable giving to support Civic Projects, Human Services, Arts and Humanities, Seniors and Education. The vision is to build a community with heart.
